3D printing has been developing at an incredible rate over the last few years, gaining ground in many industries with printers getting larger, faster and more accurate.
Purchased by AGVC as part of the company’s latest investment, the Massivit 1800 Large Format 3D Printer is one of the first in the UK. This giant 3D printer can produce single piece objects up to 180cm in height, 150cm in width and 120cm in depth.
For scale, the Massivit 1800 Large Format 3D Printer is capable of printing a life-size Tom Cruise (5ft 7in) or Katy Perry (5ft 9in) in one piece, but let’s not get carried away.
The Massivit’s size is incredible, however, it’s production speed is equally impressive. Capable of printing at 35cm per hour the Massivit 1800 Large Format 3D Printer is one of the fastest currently available.
Combine this with dual-head printing and the ability to produce two objects simultaneously the production speed practically doubles on smaller objects.
Applications for 3D signage
Large format 3D printers can produce large, complex, three-dimensional shapes with incredible accuracy. Suitable for many applications including, point of sale displays, architectural models, 3D signage and retail packaging to name only a few.
The new technology is perfectly suited for the signage industry with the ability to create bespoke, complex shapes either unachievable or costly using traditional production methods.
Once printed, a purpose-built finishing department can finalise the surface of your printed object with a wide range of options including painted finishes in the custom spray booth and airbrushing for bespoke projects.
Vacuum Form Signage
To compliment the large format 3D printer, Andesign UK have also invested in the Formech 2440 a large format vacuum former and an EFI H1625-SD Large Format Printer with SuperDraw Inks.
The Formech 2440 represents a breakthrough in vacuum forming with a maximum sheet size of 8ft x 4ft (2440mm x 1220mm). Its large size makes it suitable for signage, point of sale, automotive and aerospace applications.
Using the EFI H1625-SD Large Format Printer combined with SuperDraw UV inks, AGVC can pre-print thermoform material prior to vacuum forming on the Formech 2440. This method creates fully printed 3D thermoformed products perfectly suited for signage.
AGVC specialise in Graphics, Signage & Large Format Print. The addition of 3D printing to their already extensive range of services will solidify their position as a leader in the Large Format Printing and Signage industries.
